On this week's episode of Truly Texan, Kevin Ivester tells the story of how the East Austin Arts District came to be.

Ivester is the owner of both Ivester Contemporary and East Side Picture Framing in Austin, and he also helped found the arts district movement. While not an official, recognize district, the East Austin coalition of art galleries works to elevate the fine arts through events such as gallery walks.

Ivester also shares his thoughts on the current Austin fine arts community and his concerns about trying to make the East Austin Arts District an officially recognized zone.
